Australian Embassy helps remote school in Korat construct bathrooms and toilets for a kindergarten

The Australian Embassy Bangkok recently provided funding for Chinwongse School in Nakhorn Ratchasima (Korat) to construct bathrooms and toilets for a kindergarten and to purchase sporting equipment.

The funding of 152 157 Thai baht, made available through the Australian Embassy Direct Aid Program (DAP), helped provide 60 kindergarten students with new bathrooms and toilets. The old structures provided little shelter on the walkway and made it difficult for young students to use during the rainy season. The DAP funding also helped purchase sporting equipment which is also scarce at this remote school.

In a recent visit to the school, Ms Bronte Moules, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy, said the Embassy was delighted to support the school and she hoped the students would enjoy their new facilities.

The Australian Embassy Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a flexible, small grants program funded by the Australian Government through AusAID and managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The goal of DAP is to advance developmental objectives and address humanitarian hardship in developing countries.
