DHL hosts “Trade without Borders” seminar for Thai entrepreneurs to promote opportunities for global trade

Over 100 SMEs benefitted from knowledge of trade and customs processes

DHL Express, the world's leading international express services provider, hosted a seminar for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to provide information and insights on facilitating international trade access. The seminar in Bangkok, which attracted over 100 participants including DHL customers and members of Thaitrade.com, covered topics such as the Thai economic outlook and customs and security regulations, featuring key speakers from the Ministry of Commerce and the Thai Customs Department.

DHL's "Trade without Borders" was presented by its regional expert in customs regulations, Raymond Yee, Vice President of Customs and Regulatory Affairs, Southeast Asia and South Asia, DHL Express, who spoke to local businesses to provide an understanding on customs requirements. The event was part of DHL's ongoing efforts to share its expertise in customs regulations as an international trade facilitator.

DHL has a dedicated team of more than 4,100 customs experts around the world and a Global Governance Structure that guarantees global standards with codes of behavior across the network, delivering consistency and uniformity. The company remains committed to participating in all government customs and security programs such as C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism) and AEO (Authorized Economic Operator). DHL also holds strong relationships with government authorities on global, regional and local levels such as WCO (World Customs Organization).

The "Trade without Borders" event, held at the Eastin Grand Sathorn Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday 14th July is co-sponsored by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), and the Thai Customs Department.

Today's seminar aims to promote greater understanding of customs compliance and what we can do support our customers."

DHL Express Thailand is a certified AEO customs broker, working 24 hours every day at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport, with over 70% of inbound shipment cleared within 1 hour upon arrival.

In January, DHL Express signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce to facilitate international trade access for Thai businesses of all sizes.
