IBM leads in ASEAN Server market in Revenue in Q3 2012

IBM ranked #1 in overall server revenue share in Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and #1 (tied) in Malaysia in Q3 2012

IBM in Thailand was ranked the number one vendor, in terms of overall server revenue market share in Q3 2012, according to leading IT market research and advisory firm, IDC*.

In Thailand, IBM was number one with a 34 percent revenue market share in Q3 2012. IBM Thailand also secured top spot in the total external disk storage market, with 33.6 percent share of the market by revenue, 13.4 points higher than the next closest competitor.

IBM has a continued focus on Smarter Computing systems, aimed at solving the varied and intensifying challenges organisations are facing, from security vulnerabilities to managing ballooning data volumes that are expanding through social and mobile technologies. IBM was the number-one ranked vendor in the following server segments in Thailand in Q3 2012:

High-end Enterprise ($250k) server market with 79.1 percent revenue share

RISC and EPIC server market with 49.3 percent revenue share

Non-x86 (Unix) server market with 57 percent revenue share

IBM was the number-one ranked vendor in the following server segments in ASEAN in Q3 2012:

High-end enterprise ($250+) server segment, with 77.7 percent revenue share

The RISC/EPIC server market, with 54.7 percent revenue share

Non-x86 (Unix) server market with 57.8 percent revenue share
