Bangkok--27 Apr--LINE Thailand
Recruiting Capable Thai Developers in Conjunction with Establishment of New Unit

LINE Thailand has announced plans to create a new R&D unit and recruit capable Thai developers in conjunction with its establishment. The new unit will create new services and apps focusing on Thai users' needs.

Currently, the Thai government is focusing on the IT industry more than ever by encouraging all sectors to move into the digital economy. The private sector is equally aware of the importance of technology, and companies are actively developing IT products and services as well as recruiting IT technicians and developers to reinforce their human resources.

Ariya Banomyong, MD of LINE Thailand said "LINE is announcing it is setting up a Development Team in Thailand, with the ambition of developing the next new services of LINE by a Thai team, for the 33 million LINE users. We are looking for energetic, and crazy talented developers, who want to make an impact, and create useful services in Thai people's daily lives"

LINE Thailand currently has five core business units—games, content, business solutions, e-commerce, and payment—and support departments such as marketing, communication, HR and finance.

Previously, all LINE family apps and services were built by developers in other countries and then only adapted or adjusted when necessary for the Thai market. Some apps like LINE TV and LINE Music were created based in part on ideas from Thailand, but development was always ultimately directed by other LINE offices.

Going forward, LINE Thailand will expand its businesses by focusing on creating new services and apps, by Thai people, for Thai people. The company is looking for passionate and energetic leaders/team players who dare to break the rules and forge a new history for LINE Thailand. Potential positions include development team lead, software engineer, iOS or Android engineer, application analyst, and mobile or application developer.
