Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province, is driving national innovation and reform forward by promoting deep integration within the areas of science, technology, and the economy. As an international metropolis in Western China, Chengdu is required by the Sichuan Provincial CPC Committee to play a role in helping other cities in Sichuan and contribute to a joint effort to drive the economic development of the nation, while developing its own economy.

The Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone is among the major projects encouraging Chinese talents to create innovations and start businesses to boost the provincial and national economies. It is committed to providing services and support to talents and startups. It formulates wide-ranging incentive policies for the development of enterprises in IT, pharmaceutical, and modern manufacturing industries.

Other business incentives include low rates for office rental, tax incentives and human resource subsidies, which attract many high potential and incubate new start-ups. Moreover, favorable working environment, including leisure and sports facilities, is an important attraction that lures talents and entrepreneurs.

The achievements of innovation and entrepreneurship in Chengdu are remarkable. Zhun Xing Yun Xue Technology Co., Ltd. and Tinman Technology Co. Ltd. are among the successful start-ups enjoying the Chengdu government support.

Chengdu is also home to Tianfu New Area, a pilot area of comprehensive innovation and a modern high-end industry cluster. This convenient, eco-friendly development area will bring together multinationals and leading Chinese companies.

Chengdu constitutes a comprehensive regional traffic hub at the international level. This includes the Chengdu-Europe Express Railway Service, which runs between Chengdu and the Polish city of Lodz. It offers the most convenient channel linking China and Europe, with the shortest travel time.

Meanwhile, the Tianfu International Airport, construction of which began on May 27, 2016, is a national-level international aviation hub. When construction finishes, Chengdu will be the third city all over the country, after Beijing and Shanghai, to have two airports.

Chengdu is making progress towards the goals of constructing a national central city as an economic, scientific and technological, cultural creation center and a comprehensive transportation hub in West China, also as China's open economy and cultural communication gateway to the world.
