eBay, a leader in global e-commerce, collaborated with the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) to organize the "eBay B2B2C Business Matching and Workshop" event to unlock the potential for Thai exporters to succeed in marketing their products in the global online market. Over 100 Thai exporters recently participated in the event at the Department of International Trade Promotion's New Economy Academy (Ratchadaphisek).

Mr. Boonphan Boonprayoon, Thailand Country Manager for eBay, said, "We held the eBay B2B2C Business Matching and Workshop event to encourage Thai exporters to expand their marketing channels to online retail and sell to the world on eBay. We aim to create a win-win ecosystem by matching Thai exporters with eBay Enablers that provide a variety of services including e-catalog software that speeds up the buyer's listing from search to purchase, and inventory management and logistics for cross-border online retailing. In addition, eBay resellers can look for ways to further boost sales for retailers. As a result, Thai exporters can rest assured that they do not need to run retail customer service operations, which they might not be familiar with, because Enablers and Resellers will deal with any retail consumer and logistics issues.

"We are pleased to collaborate with the Department of International Trade Promotion to enhance trade opportunities for Thai exporters, and to activate growth in the export sector to reach over 170 million buyers in different countries worldwide," he added.

At the event, participating Thai exporters met with three eBay Enablers: CloudCommerce, DexCommerce, and Zoldmate. Each of the Enablers has been running businesses on eBay for more than 10 years, so all are very familiar with the eBay platform, buyer behavior, and all end-to-end operations required for online retail.

Mrs. Arada Fuangtong, Director, Office of Digital Commerce Market, Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, said, "The department realizes the importance of encouraging Thai exporters to use digital technologies to expand their business opportunities into global markets by building collaborative partnerships with leading partners that will help boost the country's export growth. This is why we collaborate with eBay Thailand to support Thai exporters including the department's members and members of Thaitrade.com, as well as interested Thai exporters, to boost their international trading practices via the e-marketplace to the international level. This will help to enhance, reinforce, and sustain Thailand's economy."

The atmosphere at the eBay B2B2C Business Matching and Workshop event was enjoyable and enthusiastic, with over 100 Thai exporters participating from a range of sectors, including industrial products, auto parts, home and garden, sports, and lifestyle and wellness products, in addition to Thai packaged foods. All showed tremendous interest in joining the event to discuss business opportunities and unlock the huge sales potential of the global online market on eBay, a leader in global e-commerce.

Mrs. Praphaiporn Thansoontakrit, Managing Director of P.T.Y. Auto Enterprise Co., Ltd., a DITP Export member that joined the eBay B2B2C Project by working with Zoldmate, said, "Our company has been in the wholesale auto parts export business for more than 40 years. We wanted to go online on so many occasions, but did not have the expertise to support retail consumers, especially abroad. After joining the project with eBay, we are satisfied with the services provided by our eBay Enabler, which is familiar with the eBay landscape. It started by creating an eBay e-Catalog that enabled us to offload retail hassles and boost opportunities to improve sales of products that we have in stock. At the end of the day, we realized that another key factor to take advantage of growth opportunities on eBay was to increase the variety of items we offer and to speed up the product listing process."

Thai exporters who want to grow their businesses and stand out by achieving success in the global online market can follow eBay's many useful events on Facebook and YouTube: eBay Community Thailand.
