Dr. Photchanan Ratanajaipan, the executive director of Thai Network Information Center Foundation (THNIC), stated about ".th" Second-Level Domain (.th SLD) registration the first round of of year 2019 that "As THNIC has tested out fast track for .th SLD registration since 2014 which offered only one round per year in a limited period of time and slightly adjusted terms and conditions in some rounds until last year 2018 we started launching three rounds as a trial and were welcomed very well. This year THNIC will implement standard guidelines for further .th SLD registration rounds which will typically schedule three rounds per year starting from this year onwards. The first round of .th SLD registration this year will be open during 2 May - 30 June; and the next round will be in August - September; and the final round of the year will be in November - December 2019.
After all five years, there are over 100 .th SLD registration from business sector, trademarks, academic institutions and non-government organization. THNIC has contributed funds received from .th SLD registration and annual renewal fees from every rounds to Net2Home project which is a project bringing the Internet to local communities in remote area using effective technology in low cost; and Bangkok Neutral Internet Exchange (BKNIX) which is a project developing the Internet infrastructure. Therefore, this upcoming round THNIC would like to take this opportunity to invite you to be a part of promoting the Internet development in Thailand and obtain rights to hold .th SLD domain name in your unique names.
In this regard, THNIC has authorized T.H.NIC Co., Ltd., who is the Registrar responsible for .th domain registration, to formally provide services of applications and registrations of .th SLD. THNIC will collect .th SLD registration fees as donations for Thai Network Information Center Foundation directly. All fees receiving this year will be funding for activities focusing in promoting and developing the Internet in Thailand.
