Chiba Tourism Website Updated for Smartphones, Malay Language

Chiba Prefecture's website for foreign tourists will be renovated to be fun to visit and easy to navigate. Chiba website will also become compatible with smartphones, launch a Facebook page and provide content-rich map information. Chiba website is adding Malay to its extensive foreign language support, including English, Chinese (simplified and complex), Korean and Thai.

3. Main features

-- Launching a new website tailored for navigation on a smartphone, making it easier for foreign tourists to search for travel information, including finding ways to visit sightseeing spots from wherever they are.

-- Opening a Facebook page to provide a wide range of information about Chiba's attractions as quickly as it becomes available.

-- Attaching elaborate digital map to travel information, showing not only the searched spot but also many other sightseeing locations around it.

-- Adding the Malay language to the website, strengthening its support for travelers from Southeast Asia.

-- Showing the Chiba website's Malay and English editions some of the spots in Chiba Prefecture catering to the special needs of Muslim people.

* From September 17, visitors to the old website will be automatically forwarded to the updated website.
