Top 25 Hotels for Romance – Thailand

Traveler's Choice awards are the highest honor Trip Advisor can give. Based on reviews and opinions from millions of travelers Poppies is ranked in the top 1% of hotels represented by Trip Advisor.

These awards come at a time when Poppies is also stepping up its efforts to lead the way to sustainability on the island of Koh Samui. Poppies has stopped using plastic water bottles, and instead has introduced re-usable stainless-steel bottles for guests to use and take home after their stay. Poppies is one of the first hotels to "go green" by stopping the use of plastic bottles. "After a recent snorkeling trip off the shores of Samui, I noticed so many plastic bottles in the water, and realized that I needed to do something, so I started a movement away from plastic bottles", said James McManaman, General Manager at Poppies.

James contacted the people behind Trash Hero, a group that already have a stainless bottle program in place for local businesses. Poppies is the first hotel on Samui to introduce the stainless-steel water bottles as a replacement for plastic.

More about Poppies Samui - Poppies Restaurant and Seaside Cottages opened in 1994 as the first true boutique resort on Koh Samui. Located on Chaweng Beach, Poppies is rated the #1 resort on Koh Samui by Trip Advisor. The 24 individual Thai Cottages are serviced by 84 caring staff members who go out of their way to create the special Poppies experience the resort is known for.
