Thai exchange lists bonds worth THB 102 billion in July

Thailand’s Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) has approved the listing in July, 2006, of 12 treasury bills issues, two Bank of Thailand (BOT) bonds issues, plus one Government Housing Bank (GHB) bonds issue, amounting to THB 102 billion (approx. USD 2.635 billion). Details are:
1. TB49/40/28D, TB49/L40/91D and TB49/L40/182D collectively worth THB 19 billion will commence trading on July 3, 2006.
2. TB49/41/28D, TB49/L41/91D and TB49/L41/182D collectively worth THB 19 billion will commence trading on July 7, 2006.
3. TB49/42/28D, TB49/L42/91D and TB49/L42/182D collectively worth THB 19 billion will commence trading on July 17, 2006.
4. TB 49/43/28D, TB49/L43/91D and TB49/L43/182D collectively worth THB 19 billion will commence trading on July 24, 2006.
5. BOT49/13/364D worth THB 12 billion, with a 364-day maturity, will commence trading on July 4, 2006, using “CB07705A” as its trading symbol, and will fall due on July 5, 2007.
6. BOT49/14/364D worth THB 12 billion, with a 364-day maturity, will commence trading on July 18, 2006, using “CB07719A” as its trading symbol, and will fall due on July 19, 2007.
7. GHB49/20/7Y worth THB 2 billion, with a 7-year maturity and a fixed interest rate of 6.2825% p.a., will commence trading on July 5, 2006, using “GHB137A” as its trading symbol, and will fall due on July 5, 2013.
The above issues will boost overall value of government bonds being traded on BEX to THB 2.649 trillion (approx. USD 68.45 billion), bringing the total value of all listed bonds to THB 2.965 trillion (approx. USD 76.61 billion).
