Mead Johnson Thailand joins hands with the Chaipattana Foundation and Srinakharinwirot Prasanmitr University to sustain the Helping Hand Project at Koh Yao Noi, Phang-nga On March 11, 2008 Mead Johnson Thailand together with the Chaipattana Foundation and the Faculty of Education, Srinakharinwirot Prasanmitr University, pay a visit to inspect theprogress of the Child Development Center at Koh Yao Noi in Phang-nga province. This visit is part of Mead Johnson Thailand’s commitment to support child’s mental development in Thailand through its Helping Hand Project. “Mead Johnson has continuously supported many projects concerning early age children. This is the critical period when physical and mental fully develop. Mead Johnson Helping Hand project on Koh Yao Noi island, as well as the pilot project in Kuraburi emphasize on continuous and sustainable development. We have lent our supports in various forms such as improving the infrastructure, providing the teaching materials, and give training to the teachers. Moreover, we provided the parents and involving staffs with knowledge on proper nutrition. All efforts have been designed to improve the quality of people and environment complementing children’s mental and learning development in early ages. It has been a great honor for us due to the visit of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to the opening ceremony of the child development center under Mead Johnson Helping Hand project”, Mr. Jorge Pinedo, General Manager of Mead Johnson Thailand remarks. It is fortunate that the public sector pays high interest in lending a hand to the community, especially, in enhancing child education.” Dr. Patana Chutpong, Chief Executive of the Curriculum of the Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Education, Srinakharinwirot Prasanmitr University said that “The main responsibility of Srinakharinwirot Prasanmitr University is to provide training to the teachers of Baan Yai Child Development Center, and to recommend classroom decoration an proper teaching materials to stimulate learning development of the students. We have brought with us a lot of learning from Mead Johnson Helping Hand’s pilot project in Kuraburi for adaptation here in Koh Yao Noi. We ensure that the courses are designed with emphasis on the children and the local environment as the center.
