Oracle Education Foundation and Ministry of Education Expand “Think.com” to Southern Thailand Knowledge-based Collaboration Projects Planned to Connect Schools Nationwide
The Oracle Education Foundation, in cooperation with the Information and Communications Technology Center and the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Education, Ministry of Education, recently expanded the Oracle Education Foundation’s Think.com online learning community into the southern part of Thailand.
This year, the Oracle Education Foundation received the support of the Ministry of Education’s Information and Communications Technology Center, and the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Education to roll out Think Camp across every region of Thailand. Think Camps offer hands-on trainings and workshops that provide an opportunity for students and teachers to share best practices in using Think.com.
“The Oracle Education Foundation and the Ministry of Education have committed to reach out to students and teachers across the country by introducing Think.com in 4 major cities, including Phuket, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, and Rayong,” said Mr. Natasak Rodjanapiches, Regional Managing Director for ASEAN, and Managing Director of Oracle Thailand. “As one of the first countries in South East Asia to use Think.com, we excited that we have achieved such rapid growth in Thailand. 400 member schools and 40,000 students are now members of the online community, sharing information and building knowledge with peers throughout the world.”
At the Think Camp opening ceremony in Phuket, Dr. Panupong Wanchantuk, Director, Phuket ICT Skill Development and Learning Center, said, “Think.com helps students and teachers to communicate and share knowledge, while developing technology skills. It will help the students meet their academic and career goals in the future and encourages the development of skills need in today’s workplace.”
“Today, many Thai teachers are learning more about the use of “Think.com”. The challenge is applying it in their classrooms and their teaching methods,” said Ajarn Wichai Srisud, Teacher of Vocational and Technology, Bangkok Christian College. “Think Camp has helped address this problem. It has equipped Thai teachers with knowledge, skills, and innovative tools to help them put their learnings into practice.”
