Siam Winery’s Monsoon Valley White Shiraz has earned the respect of wine connoisseurs everywhere by winning two top awards at prestigious wine competitions in Europe. The White Shiraz won the silver medal in the Syrah du Monde, the international Shiraz competition in France, while winning a bronze medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2008 in London, England.
Siam Winery, the producer of Monsoon Valley Wines, the leading premium Thai wine brand, received the impressive awards for its Monsoon Valley White Shiraz, a refreshing and aromatic pink wine made from red Shiraz grapes — the first white Shiraz ever produced in Thailand.
At the Syrah du Monde, a highly regarded competition which takes place in Ampuis, France and is organized to determine the world's best Shiraz, Siam Winery’s Monsoon Valley White Shiraz earned a silver medal. The competition included selections from leading wine producers from 23 different countries including France, Chili, Australia, South Africa, and Argentina. In all there were a total of 384 different Shiraz wines that the Monsoon Valley White Shiraz competed against.
At the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) 2008, in which the Monsoon Valley White Shiraz won the bronze medal, is the world’s premier wine competition of its kind. The competition aims to promote the quality and excellence of the world's best wines with technically sound methods that ensure the entered wines taste the same, with the same high quality, as the bottled wines that reach consumers, as panels of judges blind-taste the wines. In this year’s competition, Siam Winery’s Monsoon Valley White Shiraz won the bronze medal against stiff competition as there were more than 5,000 other competitors from 50 attending countries from around the world.
