Tsutomu Morimoto, President of SANYO (THAILAND) Co., Ltd., revealed that SANYO has succeeded in 2009 camcorder marketing with average 17% market share taken. The main factor is that high-quality and portable camcorders with fashionable design are being popular among consumers. SANYO has well fulfilled the mentioned demand.
For 2010, the company would like to introduce 5 new Xacti Series portable camcorders, which are mainly designed to offer Full HD capability. The 5 new models are VPC-CS1, VPC-SH1, VPC-CG100, VPC-GH1, and VPC-CG20. Main targets are female consumers and users who prefer agility for travel as the cameras are lighter and more compact. This year, SANYO challenges to gain 25% market share.
Mr. Pojsanut Thongjua, Deputy General Manager of SANYO (THAILAND) Co., Ltd., stated that SANYO (Thailand) believes that Thai camera market has high potential to grow. The company has positioned the product into portable camcorder category, which capable Full HD image quality at attractive price compared with the functions of equal level camcorders by other brands.
Each model has different attributes from others, especially the VPC—CS1, the world’s smallest, slimmest, and lightest slim type dual camera. It combines between still photographing capability at 8 million-pixel resolution with 10-time zoom and Full HD (1920X1080) video recording capability. It is weight just 142 grams (only camcorder unit).
At the same time, there are other interesting models from Xacti Series, such as VPC-SH1 which enables 110-minute video at a take and 30-time zoom, as well as VPC-CG100 and VPC-GH1 that contain photographing capability at 16 million-pixel resolution, C-MOS Sensor image capture technology, voice zoom function at specific area, and super macro focus range at 1 cm.
Furthermore, Xacti Series promotion, with souvenirs, is available at “Sanyo Xacti Summer 2010” booth until May 31, 2010. Holder of KTC, City Bank, UOB, GE, or K-Bank card can purchase by 10-month installment with 0% interest, while holder of First Choice or Aeon card can purchase by 4-month installment with 0% interest. All models are now available at distributors, top-notch department stores, and SANYO booth — which will be arranged around the country.
