Thai AirAsia welcomes its 21st brand new Airbus A320 plane to the fleet. The airline will be increasing their flight frequency from Bangkok to Phuket, Hat Yai, Krabi, and Udon Thani, starting from 1 October 2011.

According to Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, “The brand new planes that are continuously being delivered will join the fleet to increase AirAsia’s connectivity. This is the 21st plane to join our young fleet and it will be based in Bangkok. We recently had a Thai welcoming and blessing ceremony in honor of the occasion. The brand new plane will be in service to our passengers, starting from 1 October 2011. We’ll be offering more flight frequency to our popular routes, which will add more convenience and flexibility to the travelers”.

The arrival of the new 180-seat Airbus A320 will result in the increase of flight frequency from Bangkok to Phuket, Hat Yai, Krabi and Udon Thani. Starting from 1 October 2011, the Bangkok-Phuket route will have 8 daily flights. There will also be 6 daily flights for the Bangkok-Hat Yai route, 4 daily flights for the Bangkok-Krabi route, and 3 flights per day for the Bangkok-Udon Thani route.

“We are focused on strengthening our domestic sectors as we are aiming to increase and stimulate tourism and spending within the country. The increase in flight frequency is also in preparation for the high tourist season, when travelers from all over the world will visit Thailand. The flexibility and convenience of our flight times, in combination with our extensive network of destinations will benefit all travelers. We’ll be offering attractive promotions and offers and we’re confident that our low fares will be met with a positive response”, said the CEO.

In December 2011, Thai AirAsia will be receiving another brand new Airbus A320 plane, which will be the 22nd plane to join the fleet. Early next year, AirAsia will introduce new direct flights from Bangkok to Colombo, Srilanka after much success with the South Asia market, as witnessed from the launch of the India route (Bangkok to New Delhi and Kolkata) in December 2010
