ECA2 at the controls of world’s largest aquatic show!

Tuesday 27 December 2011 15:43
Up to 5,000 people assemble every evening at OCTBAY Shenzhen, China, located by the magnificent Shenzhen Bay, to celebrate the return of the birds to this outstanding site. It has taken 28 months to complete this monumental achievement, the world’s largest aquatic show, extending over 5,600 m?.

After galvanising OCTBAY, Shenzhen, since last August, this ongoing 38-minute pageant has already become a hit. It represents a new technical and artistic challenge for the ECA2 team, whose remit was to stage the power of the natural elements combined with the magic of imagery. Their technical prowess produces fire and water by using ultra-efficient equipment: two water screens 50 metres in diameter, 5 geysers, hundreds of water spouts, 14 huge flames and 150 light projectors, to name but a few effects. A highly sophisticated control system is used to synchronise a multitude of special effects on a stage where over 50 actors, acrobats and dancers perform a moving and sensitive interpretation of life in the mangrove and its astounding creatures.

For the past 25 years, ECA2 — a member of international Publicis Worldwide Group — has been designing and producing special events on every continent, including unique ceremonies for World Expos, the Olympics, and permanent shows in amusement parks.

Renowned for exceptional creativity, innovative designs and technical expertise, ECA2 has received a host of awards. Among its many achievements, ECA2 took part in the millennium spectacular at the Eiffel Tower, produced the current permanent show at France’s Futuroscope, designed, built and programmed the opening ceremony for Shanghai World Expo in 2010 and is currently working on the semi-permanent Big-O show for the Yeosu International Expo in 2012.
