As part of AirAsia’s efforts to make traveling as convenient as possible, the world’s best low cost airline has introduced feature-rich, downloadable travel guides which feature various destinations around the region covered by AirAsia such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Indochina as well as a dedicated guide to the islands and beaches.

The first edition of the travel guide made its debut in April 2012 with Malaysia as its first destination to be featured, and the latest country added into the list of interactive guides is China, with 14 exciting destinations from Shanghai to Xi’an, amongst others and is available in English with more languages to come.

The travel guides offer quick and simple navigation through hotels, must-visit attractions, shopping, culture, transportation and accommodation options, best beach spots, outdoor adventures and other useful tips, apart from trivia and fun facts about the various destinations featured in the guide. The practical, electronic travel guides also give savvy travellers unique insights into the countries featured through detailed travel lifestyle information as well as holiday itinerary samples whether it's for a few days or weeks.

Siegtraund Teh, AirAsia’s Group Chief Commercial Officer said, “With AirAsia, now everyone can fly, but we want to also make flying and travelling as seamless as possible, even from the point where you start researching for destinations to visit. There is a real need for a user-friendly travel guide that offers discerning travellers quality editorial content. This guide is AirAsia’s solution to help our guests easily plan their travel itinerary as it also provides guests with unique insights into the destinations featured. Guests from all over the world can now easily find out what to do, see, eat and buy throughout most of the destinations we fly to with the China (airasia.com/discoverchina), Malaysia (airasia.com/awesomemalaysia), Indonesia (airasia.com/awesomeindonesia), Philippines (airasia.com/discoverph), Indochina & Myanmar (airasia.com/discoverindochinamyanmar), and Islands & Beaches guides (airasia.com/awesomeislands).”

“As this travel guide is completely downloadable from 45MB for the English version and 80MB for the Chinese version in PDF format, guests can keep a copy on their mobile devices such as their tablets, smart phones or even e-readers! This would enable them to view any of the information they need from the travel guide instantly, without going through the hassle of heavy reference books or flipping through pages as all they need to carry is their mobile device and everything will be at their fingertips. And most importantly, the travel guide is free!” Teh added.

AirAsia’s travel guide is the brainchild of the Digital Content team and guests can download the travel guides from the Downloads section of the new AirAsia Travel 3Sixty (in-flight magazine) portal at airasia.com/travel3sixty. The travel guides can also be read online with more interactive features such as save, print, bookmark and share specific pages or the whole travel guide with their friends on Facebook or Twitter.

Guests can expect travel guides on more countries and destinations coming up with Thailand, Australia, and India in the pipeline. There are plans to include more languages such as Korean and Japanese to the travel guides as well.
