ALOFT ART PROGRAM KICKS OFF IN BANGKOK Aloft Hotels collaborates with local aspiring artists to showcase art pieces on Level 1

Aloft Bangkok — Sukhumvit 11 is pleased to present the Aloft Art Program, an showcase of 4-6 locally produced paintings. The first art showcase includes work by local up-and-coming artists, Ms. Julairat Khankhayan and Ms. Paphada Sirisuwat who are both senior students from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University. The artwork will be displayed from Now until May 31, 2013 on Level 1 in the hotel.

Aloft Art Program allows local artists or galleries to display their work free of charge and demonstrates the hotel’s involvement with the local art communities. By bringing art into our hotel spaces, Aloft Hotels hope to make the appreciation of art more accessible to our guests. This program complements the design passion point of Aloft Hotels and is found in our properties worldwide.

Ms. Julairat Khankhayan, age 23, has won gold medals for the 2nd and 4th National Youth and Juvenile Art Exhibition as well as a silver medal at the 6th exhibition of the same title. Her art reflects the journey from the real world to an abstract one, explaining how everything changes and returns to nature as we traverse from birth to death.

Ms. Paphada Sirisuwat, a 23-year old young artist with hearing impairment, has exhibited her paintings at several exhibitions including Silpa Bhirasri Day in 2011 and the Open House of Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University in the same. Her paintings capture the beauty of nature through the picturesque view, using a strong use of turquoise used to convey a sense of tranquillity.

Aloft Art Program at the Aloft Bangkok — Sukhumvit 11 provides guests, local collectors and art lovers with an opportunity to enjoy these stunning works from our talented and aspiring Thai artists. The showcase on level 1 of the hotel will be refreshed each month to showcase the diversity and vibrancy of the art scene in Bangkok.
