Ford Thailand, in partnership with the Population and Community Development Association (PDA), recently hosted the award presentation ceremony for its Go Further Innovator 2015 Scholarship. Winning teams of university students from the Bangkok Metropolitan area and Eastern Thailand were recognized for their video submissions to a competition under the theme: "Go Further – Go Forward for the Development of Thailand".

Ford also held a Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) training session to provide education on safe driving and road safety to the students receiving the scholarships.

Approximately 40 students from 14 universities and representative judges attend the ceremony held at Metro Life Park. PC CREATIVE DESIGN, a team from Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, was the winner and received a THB 100,000 scholarship for their "Go Further, Ford Smart Technology" video clip.

Nantaya Wongjeen and Weeraphon Donprasit, winners from PC CREATIVE DESIGN team stated: "It is a great honor to win this Ford Go Further Innovator 2015 Scholarship. We found both the theme of the campaign and Ford's four pillars – quality, green, smart, and safe – very inspiring and beneficial to Thai society."

"Our team's submission centered around the importance of safe driving, which we feel is a topic that everyone across the country needs to be aware of. We showcased how Ford's smart technologies can help ensure safety on every journey. Our thanks go to Ford Thailand and the PDA for this opportunity for Thai youth to present ideas that can positively impact society."

"Ford is committed to supporting education and safe driving across all audiences, including Thai students," said Yukontorn 'Vickie' Wisadkosin, managing director of Ford Thailand.

"The winning video effectively connected the concept of how Ford's smart and fuel-efficient vehicles can help ensure safety on the road. Globally, Ford is constantly developing new innovations in safety technology to ensure that our vehicles keep drivers and passengers safe on the road."

Additionally at the event, Ford organized its DSFL programme for the students, providing them with education on safe driving and road safety. The advanced real world training, both theoretical and practical, serves as a critical step to establish safe driving behaviors. The session also provides instructions on how to maximize vehicle fuel economy and reduce accidents on the road.

The globally-recognized DSFL has been Ford's CSR flagship programme for 13 years globally and nine years in Thailand. The programme has trained more than 8,800 licensed drivers in Thailand, free of charge. The training is tailored in Thailand to reflect the local driving environment and road conditions.
