The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has collaborated an online marketing campaign 'Invest Now' with 37 securities firms to cultivate investment culture via online & social media to attract new retail investors nationwide. This reinforces SET's strategic plan to expand quality investor base and promote investment and financial planning.

The campaign has targeted new retails investors with digital lifestyle. SET created online content, including video clips and infographic for distribution via SET's online and social media as well as SET Group Official Channel on YouTube, providing equity and derivatives investment knowledge and expertise ranging from investment planning, investment tips, tools and techniques, to various seminars. In addition, SET has developed online channel to facilitate investors in opening their securities trading accounts conveniently via www.set.or.th/investnow as well as promotions for new retails investors.

SET President Kesara Manchusree stated, "The campaign is expected to motivate investors to start their investment early in order to achieve their financial goal and prepare themselves for post-retirement time. According to the Capital Market Research Institute research findings, Thai people started their investment late as they startinvesting at the average age of 42, while the Americans begin at 30. In addition, 28 percent of Thai people have to make ends meet without enough savings for investment, with key reasons that they cannot afford to plan ahead to build wealth to cover post-retirement expenses and they also have poor return on investment plan. As a matter of fact, the past statistics showed that average return from the Thai stock was 8.4 percent per year during 1975-2015, while generating an average dividend at 4.4 percent which is much higher than that of the savings account."

Association of Thai Securities Companies (ASCO) Chairlady Pattera Dilokrungthirapop said, "Number of online trading accounts have increased. As of April, 2016, there were 988,677 online accounts which are accounted for 77 percent of total trading accounts. The "Invest Now" campaign uses online media to create investment awareness among Thais with support from all securities firms to provide services and consultations to enable new investorsreach their financial goals sooner, which is in line with ASCO's commitment to provide investment knowledge and developed capital market professionals."
