SCB collaborates with People's State Network to hold 'Spring Up Thailand’ SME Expo

Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) is taking the lead in organizing a "Spring Up Thailand: Strengthening SMEs with Professional Advisors" SME Expo featuring the People's State Collaborative Network. The network is comprised of more than 200 organizations from government agencies, the private sector, educational institutions, and financial institutions. The event will bring together SME-related organizations to provide answers for SMEs at any stage of their businesses, and will feature a Tech Startup Zone to help enhance SME efficiency, including a Social Enterprise Zone. More than 60 gurus have joined to share their knowledge and experience during seminar sessions throughout the 4-day event, which will be packed with useful tips for SMEs. The event will be held at BCC Hall, Central Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok during 7-10 July 2016, and later in Udon Thani, Chiang Mai, and Hat Yai, offering opportunities and knowledge for a strong and sustainable economic foundation.

In his capacity as Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on SMEs, Startups, and Social Enterprises under the People's State campaign, Mr. Supan Mongkolsuthee said that the current government has a policy to create and develop the potential of Thai business operators to strengthen the economy with a stable and sustainable foundation. The effort has brought together the People's State Collaborative Network from the public and private sectors to support and promote SMEs. One of the key efforts is the Big Brother Project, which will allow successful firms to serve as mentors to organize activities providing useful business tips, innovation development, production efficiency development, marketing, and access to potential selling channels, and more. SCB, as one of the strategic partners in the People's State Collaborative Network, has initiated a "Spring Up Thailand: Strengthen SMEs with Professional Advisors" SME event and served as a leader in bringing together more than 200 strategic partners to take part.

Siam Commercial Bank SME Segment Function First Executive Vice President Mr. Vipon Vorasowharid said that the "Spring Up Thailand" SME Event will provide One Stop Service under the Total Business Solutions concept. The event will be divided into 7 zones providing advisory services, comprising: Zone 1: Business Takeoff – Business startup and; Zone 2: Financial – Finance, taxes, and loans for business; Zone 3: Productivity – Productivity enhancement and standards; Zone 4: Innovation – Innovation to ignite and grow businesses; Zone 5: Marketing – Marketing to create brands and selling channels; Zone 6: Connectivity – Trade and exports; and Zone 7: Logistics – Logistics, imports and exports. SMEs, startups, and social enterprises can obtain all the information they need at one event, and will have opportunities to participate in many interesting activities, such as the People's State PR Project, a Meet the Expert Zone that will offer more than 30 seminar topics by 60 business gurus, a new business matching model, business plan presentation, and many more workshops. Business operators can take part in Business to Business (B2B) discussions at more than 100 booths representing franchises, agents, and OEMs.

The Spring Up Thailand SME Expo is scheduled to be held in four major cities in venues sponsored by Central Pattana PCL. The first event will kick off during 7-10 July at the BCC Hall Central Plaza Ladprao, and subsequently be held in Udon Thani in the North East, Chiang Mai in the North, and Hat Yai, Songkhla in the South to provide perspectives, knowledge, and business opportunities for SMEs, startups, and social enterprises nationwide. The organizers hope that the event will be useful in promoting the potential and strength of Thai business operations at every level, which will serve as a mechanism to drive the economy to sustainable growth.
