Central Pattana is encouraging all to join the global mission to create a #BetterPlanet, while strengthening its position as a key player in sustainability at both the national and global levels.

Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Central Pattana, said, "One of the strengths of the 33 Central shopping centers in all regions across Thailand is the fact that they are the centers of life for the communities and the environment. Environmental issues are complex and no individual or organisation can solve them alone. Therefore, we are cooperating with different partners and groups of young people who are environmentally conscious in order to create a real change at the national level."

"This is also why we support the CCCL Film Festival, which has moved from the cinemas to an online channel due to the COVID-19 situation. However, this matches the current customer lifestyle as many people are working or studying from home. Customers can register to join the CCCL Film Festival for free, which could be the first step of their journey to create change," he said.

"Central Pattana believes that the community, society, environment and business operations cannot be separated from each other. We consider it an important mission to create a positive change in these aspects as much as possible. In doing so, we are joining hands with different organisations at the global, national and local levels to create a #BetterPlanet. We aim to reduce carbon footprint, conduct better energy management, utilise circular economy, increase green spaces, which will ultimately support sustainable urban development and reduce climate change impact."

"As Central Pattana is selected to be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), we are already a global player when it comes to sustainability," said Dr. Nattakit.

Mr. Christopher G. Moore, founder of CCCL, said "We must realise how climate change affects our lives. The CCCL staff members, sponsors, partners and participants are all part of the global movement to raise awareness and warning that we must find a way to alleviate the situation and adjust ourselves to tackle on the global warming challenge, which is the message Greta wants to tell everyone on this planet."

"I AM GRETA is a documentary from Swedish director Nathan Grossman which tells a story of world-renowned climate activist Greta Thunberg with never-before-seen footage. Viewers will get to see both her tough and soft sides, her supporters and opponents and her journey from Sweden to New York, the US as she spoke out about global warming. Her stance has inspired youths around the world to act and demand their governments and societies to pay attention to the crisis."

"We are the sole party in Thailand with the license to show this documentary. In addition to the screening, we are hosting various online activities throughout August, including post-screening discussion with prominent speakers such as Professor Dr. Siwatt Pongpiachan, Director of NIDA Center for Research & Development of Disaster Prevention & Management; Kamonnart Ongwandee, Country Coordinator of Fashion Revolution; and Awat Ratanapintha, artist, actor, and one of the duo singers of mints, and member of Sustainable Ocean Alliance Thailand (SOA Thailand). Central Pattana has adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of global goals for sustainability to create a better world, and applied them to its businesses. The goals are interconnected and interdependent. For examples. Goal 6 is to ensure clean water and sanitation management, Goal 7 is to ensure access to affordable and clean energy, Goal 11 is to make sustainable cities and communities, Goal 12 is to create responsible consumption and production, and Goal 13 is to handle climate change.
