Central Food Retail offers space to help SME's and OTOP businesses with the launch of "HUG THAIS zone" to invite Thais to support local businesses through omni-channel platforms

Central Food Retail under Central Retail is committed to helping SME's and OTOP businesses and has recently introduced HUG THAIS - Love Thais, Help Thais to invite Thai people to support Thai businesses on omni-channel platforms. Customers can shop in store and enjoy more than 4,500 products on offer at Tops market, Tops SUPERSTORE, Central Food Hall, Jing Jai FARMERS' MARKET and online at www.tops.co.th which offers more than 1,300 items. There are also special promotions to stimulate purchase in order to boost sales and generate revenue for SME's and OTOP businesses affected by the COVID-19 situation so that they can get back on their feet and bring smiles back to their faces.

Sujita Phengoun, Chief Operating Officer Large Format, Central Food Retail under Central Retail, talked about the "Connect The Dots" initiative by Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited and the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Under this initiative, there are three main missions, one of which is to offer help to SME's and OTOP businesses who have been seriously impacted by the COVID-19 situation. Tops, as a retail leader which has stood by Thai people over the past 25 years, would like to play a role in driving this mission and has therefore introduced HUG THAIS - Love Thais, Help Thais to sell quality local products through omni-channel platforms, offering more than 4,500 products at 102 branches of Tops market, Tops SUPERSTORE, and Central Food Hall, and 23 locations of Jing Jai FARMERS' MARKET. Having a dedicated zone will help facilitate customers in purchasing the products. Meanwhile, customers can also conveniently shop online at www.tops.co.th with more than 1,300 products on offer, available for purchase at their fingertips.

The launch of Hug Thais will help stimulate local consumption which in turn boosts consumption of raw materials by businesses in Thailand. Today, there are more than 750 businesses in this initiative, all of which offer high quality products. However, in the past, consumers might not be confident about the quality, are not able to access the products, or are not attracted to the physical appearance of the products. Additionally, SME's and OTOP businesses, given their reduced budgets, do not have much to spend on marketing and PR. Having the HUG THAIS zone and HUG THAIS symbol to highlight these local products will help boost the sales, while special promotions will also attract customers. Doing so will help support the grassroots economy in Thailand, support local businesses, maintain employment rate, and generate income for SME's and OTOP businesses, so that we can all get through this crisis together without leaving anyone behind.
