With the start-up of its new state-of-the-art BOPP line in Indonesia, PTL is all set to participate in the fast growing flexible packaging market in the South East Asian region.

"The start-up of the BOPP line in Indonesia will help re-inforce our strategy of being a Complete Packaging Solution provider and the leading supplier of choice to all our customers in the Flexible Packaging business. Indonesia has a very large market for BOPP and we remain confident of being able to leverage on the synergies with our existing customer base and grow our BOPP business. The state of the art 10.6 meter BOPET film line commissioned in Indonesia in 2019 is already the most cost competitive line in the world. With the start-up of the new BOPP film line, which is also a 10.6-meter line, it will further strengthen the cost effectiveness of the operations in Indonesia due to economies of scale and improve its Industry positioning" stated Mr. Amit Prakash, the Managing Director.

PTL's positioning in all the key markets and its continued focus on enhancing specialty portfolio, without losing focus on expanding standard film capacity as well, has helped to maintain market share and its leadership position.

"With the recent challenges from Covid and the supply chain disruptions that the Globe is witnessing, we see a clear shift in customer preferences to local and on-shore/ near shore supplies, as compared to their dependency on cheaper imports during pre-Covid times. Players like Polyplex, with a strong manufacturing footprint in all key geographies are likely to benefit from this opportunity and expand their market share" added Mr. Prakash.

PTL's investment in US for the expansion of its BOPET film and resin capacity expansion is underway and expected to start up in H2 of FY 2022-23. PTL continues to look for opportunities for further growth in existing locations as well as evaluating new locations and hopes to maintain the growth momentum in the years to come.
