Created by the Panthera Group, Thailand's No. 1 nightlife operator, Juicy opened its doors on Feb. 1, bringing Bangkok's youthful generation starved for new and unique entertainment a high-end lounge showcasing the icons of 90s hip-hop, R&B mixed with the best of today.

Juicy's "Ol' Skool" cred is obvious from the moment you cross the velvet rope. Its polished black interior is illuminated with black light and neon highlights. Photos of hip-hop and R&B legends share space with iconic, neon-lit quotes of the decade. Juicy's walls feature work from famous Bangkok graffiti artists Omeka and Dave Horgan. Standup arcade machines offer hundreds of the 80s' and 90s' classics from Pac-Mac to Donkey Kong.

Despite its cultural vintage, Juicy is aimed squarely at Thailand's "90s Kids", the twentysomething youths who weren't even born when Ice Cube and the Cypress Hill hit the scene.

"As hip-hop has gotten more popular, I think young people are listening to at least some of these artists or have heard some of the real famous 90s hip-hop songs," said Juicy manager Richard Goetz. "There's a real appreciation for these classic artists among the younger generation."

But don't expect saggy jeans and head bandanas at Juicy. From Goetz on down, the staff's attire is fly and the top-shelf refers as much to the atmosphere as the drinks collection.

Operating on the ground floor of the Sugar Club Complex, Juicy retained the outdoor patio. But now, it gleams with polished tables and padded armchairs. The outdoor seating is ideal for smokers or those wanting a chiller vibe.

Inside, guests will find a variety of seating options, including a pimped-out VIP section suitable for two to 20 people that is great for birthday parties. Plush sofas and throw pillows line each wall with high tables along both sides, and high dance floor tables near the glowing, neon bar dominating the center.

And, of course, Juicy features a top-of-the-line sound system that surrounds guests no matter where they sit.

With the biggest clubs on Soi 11 still shuttered by coronavirus situation, Juicy is the perfect place to enjoy an evening of 'Ol' Skool' and new school hip-hop, beautiful people, great drinks, and tasty bites.

Juicy's resident DJs pumps out the 90s and early 2,000 Hip Hop and R&B from open until 9 p.m. when the "Sugar Takeover" begins, with the top-flight crew from Panthera Group's Sugar Club mix some old school playlist of hip-hop favorites from Drake, Lil' Baby, Pop Smoke, and Doja Cat.

While Juicy maybe squeezing excitement back into Soi 11, safety remains a priority, allowing people to enjoy themselves without worry. All of Juicy's staff is fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and is tested daily. All guests must pass a temperature screening, administer sanitizer gel and wear a face mask when entering. And Juicy is limiting capacity to 50% to avoid overcrowding.

With limited seating and tremendous anticipation, reservations are strongly encouraged, even on weekdays.
