Esso supports STEM education and presents "Esso-Ratanakosin Bicentennial Scholarship Funds" to University Students

Esso presented 15 scholarships worth 300,000 Baht to undergraduate students in STEM education i.e. engineering, computer science, technology, science, accounting, business administration from state universities nationwide via Office of the Permanent Secretary (OPS) of Ministry of Higher Education, Science Research and Innovation (MHESI).

On this occasion Dr. Taweesak Bunluesin (5th from right), Director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pasit Lorterapong (3rd from left), Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Higher Education, Science Research and Innovation (MHESI) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaiyaporn Puprasert (1st from left), Representative of Council of University Presidents of Thailand presided over the presentation ceremony.

Esso Director Dr. Taweesak Bunluesin said, "For 40 years, Esso has continuously coordinated with the office of Higher Education Commission on the established Esso-Ratanakosin Bicentennial Funds which have provided up to 2,175 scholarships, totaling more than 17.5 million Baht to the students with good academic performance but still in need of financial assistance. The funds have been given to undergraduate university students in STEM education particularly in engineering, computer science, technology, science, accounting, business administration and finance fields nationwide.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pasit Lorterapong added, "I would like to congratulate the selected students in receiving the scholarships. I hope they can make use of the funds effectively to enhance their study, and I hope that they continue to be good students in order to bring brighter future for themselves and beneficial to the country as a whole. "

Due to the prolonged COVID -19 pandemic situation, Office of the Permanent Secretary (OPS) of Ministry of Higher Education, Science Research and Innovation (MHESI) has applied a new normal model via virtual interviews and fund presentations at each of the universities.
