Ms. Naparat Sriwanvit, Chief Executive Officer, Grand Canal Land plc., said: "GLAND is adopting Central Pattana's main policy to become the first mixed-use developer with a long-term plan to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 - as an organization that prioritizes the environment and supports a better planet. GLAND is very pleased to be a part of campaigns that aim for environmental sustainability and so we are launching the 'Journey to NET ZERO: Bangkok Zero Waste' campaign with support and cooperation from the Huai Khwang District Office and a great partner such as Recycle Day. The campaign encourages customers, residents, employees working in the offices around the GLAND building as well as residents of Huai Khwang and Rama 9 communities to participate in the activities by bringing recycled waste to sort, sell or donate at Recycle Station @ Gland on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10.00-20.00 hrs. at g Garden to help Bangkok become an even more liveable city for everyone."
Mr. Chatchaya Khamchan, Director of Huai Khwang District, Bangkok, said: "The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is committed to its focus on waste management in urban and community areas, and we have a project entitled 'BANGKOK ZERO WASTE', which is a pilot for the city's effective waste management. The Environment Department has a mission to manage waste in the Bangkok area with an operation divided into three phases: source, mid-way and destination. Managing waste at source promotes waste-sorting habits, creating discipline in people's garbage disposal, promoting campaign participation among people and all sectors by specifying the disposal points on main roads, secondary roads, communities and along the canals, installing signs showing details of waste disposal and collection times. Central Pattana's 'Journey to NET ZERO: Bangkok Zero Waste' campaign promotes waste sorting at source and corresponds with the policy of the BMA to promote waste management and support the people of Bangkok to change their lifestyle in terms of waste management - beginning at Central shopping centers, office buildings and other real estate projects under Central's Group throughout Bangkok. We believe that if this campaign is expanded further and applied to other areas of Bangkok, it will clearly show a positive impact on Bangkok."
Mr. Chanam Chavanich, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Recycle Day Co., Ltd., said: "We are proud to be a part of helping promote the habit of turning waste into simple benefits. Recycle Day is is a new generation of startup that has collaborated with Central Pattana to launch Recycle Station as the first model in Thailand. Recycle Station is a 'Drive & Drop' point with an app to collect points. This has become a successful model that has been used by many other organizations. Recycle Day has cooperated with four branches of Central shopping centers: Central East Ville, Central Si Racha, Central Ayutthaya and most recently, g Garden Central Rama 9. Customers and employees who recycle their waste at Recycle Station also receive money from selling and by properly sorting recycled waste in addition to The1 points (they can redeem their points for various rewards)."
