The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) organizes "Thailand Focus 2022: THE NEW HOPE" to reinforce the capital market's potential and to provide guidelines on how to drive the market and the Thai economy to move forward under the new context. Minister of Finance Arkhom Termpittayapaisith has synergized with top-notch executives in the economic circle to create confidence in Thailand's readiness, with their discussions starting from the strategic level of the country, the integrated drive by the money and capital market sectors and business tactics adjustments to the shift to future-proof industries in a sustainable manner. Moreover, top executives of 124 listed companies have provided information to 161 institutional investors from 76 institutions around the world. This event reflects investors' recognition of opportunities and confidence in Thailand's economy and investment.

SET President Pakorn Peetathawatchai said that Thailand Focus has been held for the 16 consecutive years with this year's theme of "THE NEW HOPE". The event was honored to have the Minister of Finance to deliver a keynote speech on "Thailand's Economic Reopening and Enhancing Competitive Advantage", which has assured investors in terms of the strategy to drive the country's economy toward recovery and to increase competitiveness. The essence of the speech highlighted the data on private consumption and exports which remained solid despite inflation spike, supported by the recovery of tourism and farmer income; the government's periodic schemes on spending stimulus; and the country's strong fundamentals.

The minister also emphasized that Thailand is ready for both medium and long-term growth. Significantly, the government has prioritized projects that can help stimulate and restructure the economy through cooperation between the public and private sectors. During the seminar sessions, representatives from the government, business, money market and capital market sectors have jointly presented Thailand's strengths, especially the ability and potential of the Thai private sector to be in accordance with the new context in the future.

In addition, Bank of Thailand Governor Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput assured that the gradual monetary policy adjustments will be implemented in the future in line with the country's economic circumstance.

"Thailand Focus 2022: THE NEW HOPE is one of SET's roles to communicate the country's attractiveness and connect investment opportunities for institutional investors around the globe. This year's event was held in a hybrid format, with institutional investors traveling to attend the conference here in Thailand, and the online audience via virtual conference so that investors around the world can have a chance to access listed companies' information in the format that suits the new normal way of life. There were plenty of opportunities to discuss in person or one-on- one sessions. The participants were investors from major countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the United States, and Sweden. Institutional investors were interested in innovative industries and businesses to accelerate future growth, including the focus on sustainable business operations and the government's economic policies, both short-term and long-term," added Pakorn.

In addition to this event, SET has organized a "Digital Roadshow" for institutional investors via a video conference to keep foreign investors updated with the performance results of Thai listed companies and management's views on the business directions in each quarter.
