Informa, BOI, and partners strengthen their trade show leadership in the region with three major events: Intermach, Subcon Thailand, and Plastic & Rubber Thailand 2023, advancing the integrated manufacturing sector and supporting entrepreneurs to position Thailand as a modern machinery hub in the region.

The industrial sector in Thailand has embraced Industry 4.0 with advanced technologies and innovations, in line with the country's "Thailand 4.0" master plan. This plan sets important milestones for the development of the manufacturing industry, utilizing green innovation and digital technology to connect with the global economy. To align with this strategy, Informa Markets, the Board of Investment (BOI), and the Thai Subcon Association have collaborated with government agencies, private sectors, network partners, and industry associations to organise three significant events: Intermach, Subcon Thailand, and Plastic & Rubber Thailand 2023. These events aim to drive the integrated manufacturing industry in Thailand and position the country as a hub for technology and modern machinery for manufacturing and related industries in the ASEAN region. The primary goal is to support the development of Thailand's manufacturing industry and align with the country's strategic plans.

Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General, Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), emphasized the crucial role of Thailand's subcontracting industry in the economy, which has gained recognition in the global market. BOI is dedicated to providing opportunities for Thai parts manufacturers and related industries. Co-organised by Subcon Thailand 2023 is a vital step towards achieving this goal. Previously, SUBCON Thailand has been recognized as a significant regional business forum that brings together manufacturers, buyers, and suppliers in the industrial sector, both domestically and internationally, in a single event. Particularly in the targeted industries (S-curves), businesses have the chance to meet and negotiate with prominent buyers from across the world.

According to Mr. Narit, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment, the Subcon Thailand event has been growing each year. This year, it brought together more than 500 leading manufacturers and buyers from 10 different countries, including Japan, Korea, China, India, Germany, Belgium, and Northern Ireland. The main attraction of the event is the business matching activities, with over 4,000 expected business matching pairs and business transactions worth over 10,000 million baht. The event also features the BUYERS' SHOWCASE, which showcases innovation and electric vehicle technology from Nissan Motor and SAIC Motor-CP (MG), as well as the BYD Auto Components (Thailand) activity "BYD's SOURCING DAY," which aims to procure parts manufacturers at the event. In addition to this, the event also includes seminars that aim to educate and add new skills, preparing Thailand for new target industries. Mr. Narit expressed confidence that the event will continue to grow and create numerous opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs on the global stage.

Mr. Manu Leopairote Chairman, Informa Markets - Thailand, expressed optimism about the Thai industrial sector in 2023, citing positive trends in both domestic and external demand factors, as well as encouraging investment promotion in targeted industries to embrace the new economy. The BCG Model policy was also highlighted as an important mechanism for creating added value in social and environmental stewardship. With its role as the leading international industrial machinery and subcontracting exhibition in ASEAN, Intermach 2023 was identified as a significant contributor to the growth of the Thai economy. The exhibition features more than 1,500 brands from 45 countries and 4 pavilions from China, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore, with leading manufacturers and distributors showcasing the latest technology in machining centers, machine tools, and sheet metal technology. Other notable features include the IAR PAVILION that presents solutions for investment in automation and robotics, and a showcase of 3D printing technology. The exhibition also includes important seminars, such as the Intermach Forum and seminars on the automotive industry, to develop business ideas and industry knowledge.

The plastic and rubber industries are significant production bases in Thailand. In order to help local entrepreneurs enhance their products and capabilities to meet global demands, Informa Markets has collaborated with the government, private sector, and related associations to organise Plastic & Rubber Thailand 2023. This event is a comprehensive exhibition of technology, machinery, and raw materials for the industry in Thailand. It aims to transition towards sustainable solutions for circular plastic manufacturing and features more than 40 leading companies showcasing injection moulding machines, plastic pellets, and mould technology. Additionally, Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and partners will demonstrate digital technology designed to control pollution during the production process.

The organisation of these three major events will provide a platform for Thai entrepreneurs to showcase their potential, gain knowledge, and engage in business matching activities. This is crucial to creating future business opportunities and advantages for the Thai economy, as stated by Mr. Manu.

Join the transformation of the Thai industry towards the new economy by attending Intermach 2023, the premier ASEAN exhibition for machinery technology and industrial subcontracting. This year, Intermach 2023 is held in conjunction with Subcon Thailand 2023, the foremost industrial parts and business matching exhibition in ASEAN, and Plastic & Rubber Thailand 2023, a comprehensive showcase of technology, machinery, and raw materials for the plastics and rubber industries. All three events kicked off on May 13, 2023, at the BITEC Exhibition and Convention Centre in Bangna, Bangkok.
