Mr. Twinchok Tanthuwanit, President of RCL, revealed that the company aims to further expand its services in the regions with high growth potential, both in Asia such as in India as well as in the Middle East and Africa. RCL is also preparing to invest in new vessels to replace its older fleet, increase its fleet's capacity to expand its service network, improve revenue growth and sustainability, and focus on environmental conservation and pollution reduction.

Led by Dr. Jamlong Atikul, Chairman of RCL, the company recently held a naming ceremony for its latest vessel, the NATTHA BHUM. The event was honored by Mr. Thiraphong Chansiri, President & CEO of Thai Union Group PCL, and Mrs. Pornnapa Chansiri who conducted the opening ceremony in her role as the ship sponsor. Mr. Kriengkrai Chaisiriwongsuk, Director General of Port Authority of Thailand, and RCL's business partners were also present and were demonstrated the use of modern tools to reduce pollution and conserve the environment, as well as view the efficiency of container ship management.

The name NATTHA BHUM means 'Land of the Philosophers'. The new vessel is 172 meters long and 27.5 meters wide, with a capacity of 1,930 TEUs. The NATTHA BHUM is importantly a Bangkok Max carrier, which is the largest size permitted to enter Thailand's Bangkok Port on the Chao Phraya River. It comes with a new, modern design that is capable to accommodate more than 40 HQ containers and increase the potential of large machinery. Reducing the weight of the ship's hull has given the benefit of lower fuel consumption at the same speed and distance. The amount of Co2 emissions (Green House Effect) is therefore reduced accordingly. In addition, an exhaust filter is installed to help reduce the amount of sulfur the vessel emits into the atmosphere from 3.5 percent to less than 0.5 percent in accordance to the company's ESG and sustainability policies.

In 2022, RCL was ranked 26th among the world's ocean freight forwarders.
