Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) is working with its suppliers, especially small and medium-sized suppliers, to reduce the carbon footprint of their products by sharing knowledge from the experts of Thailand Greenhouse Gas Organization (TGO) to pave the way for delivering low-carbon products. Thidarat Dechayonbuncha, Head of Procurement at CP Foods said the company is committed to supporting and developing its business partners and farmers in its supply chain to improve capacities in terms of production efficiency and responsible environmental management, adhering to international standards. To meet the target, the company cooperate with TGO to raise awareness and encourage our suppliers, including SMEs, to adjust and improve their operations, aiming to supply low-carbon products in response to combating global warming.

The webinar educated suppliers about the carbon footprint of products and how to develop low-carbon products or reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It aims to provide Thai entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge and tools to compete in the global market, with an increasing environmental consciousness. This, in turn, leads to wider opportunities for business growth.

The experts from TGO help suppliers understand and apply mechanisms and tools to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire supply chain, including raw material sourcing, production processes, transportation, consumption, and packaging management. This collaboration enables effective strategies to be developed for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fostering the development of "low-carbon food products" in response to the growing demand for environmentally conscious products.

The Partner to Grow program aims to equip suppliers with knowledge, provide expertise, and offer know-how to help them increase efficiency while reducing production costs for consistent growth. Under this project, the company has initiated a variety of projects tailored to suit suppliers of different sizes and potential.

The "SMEx, Lower Costs, and Eco-friendly" scheme aims to assist approximately 10 potential small and medium-sized suppliers in developing pilot projects to improve their production efficiency using the Lean Six Sigma approach. This project targets suppliers to help them save costs and increase their revenues.

The project is part of the "Partnership Enhancement Program," which aims to improve the competitive potential and sustainable operation of suppliers by offering expertise in four dimensions: cost-effectiveness, process improvement or innovation, responsible practices, and governance.
