Delta Thailand Wins 2022 Thailand Energy Awards from the Ministry of Energy in Energy Management Team Category

2023-Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. received the 2022 Thailand Energy Award (TEA) from the Ministry of Energy in the Energy Management Team at Designated Factory (Delta Plant 6) award category. H.E. Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, presented the award to Mr. Saroj Ruangsakulraj, Delta Energy Management System Senior Manager, at an awards ceremony held by the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), Ministry of Energy at Rama Garden Hotel Bangkok.

Speaking at the ceremony press conference, Mr. Saroj Ruangsakulraj, Delta Energy Management System Senior Manager, said, "From 2012 to 2023, Delta received 14 Thailand Energy Awards and 2 ASEAN Energy Awards. Today our solar rooftop systems at four Thailand factories have 7.1 MWp capacity which includes 2.2 MWp for Delta Plant 6 at Wellgrow Industrial Estate, Chachoengsao. This designated factory is the winner at this year's Thailand Energy Awards ceremony. We are continuing to expand our solar rooftop generation for internal use and our energy efficiency projects at our green factories in Thailand remain a key driver of our RE100 strategy to have 100% renewable electricity throughout our entire global operations by 2030."

The 2022 Thailand Energy Awards, Energy Management Team at Designated Factory category recognizes Delta management's broad vision and strategy for energy intensity reduction in operations and the efficient work of the Delta Wellgrow Energy Management Team in 2021-2022 to achieve the following:

  • Solar rooftop implementation of 2,077 kWp capacity which generates 4,174,000 kWh per year and avoids 1,678 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
  • Servo motor implementation for injection molding machine systems that can save up to 1,000,000 kWh per year in energy consumption during injection processes equal to approximately four million baht per year.

This is the seventh year for Delta to win the prestigious sustainability award from the Ministry of Energy in recognition of factories, buildings and individuals that demonstrate responsible use of energy resources for sustainable development. Previously, Delta received Thailand Energy Awards in 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

As a sustainability-focused and global corporate citizen, Delta leverages its core competencies in power management to develop and promote energy-efficient and sustainable operations. From 2006 to 2022, Delta established 32 green buildings and 2 certified green data centers around the world, including two green factories in Thailand with LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
