This year's Loy Krathong festival - which is held during the full moon of the twelfth month on the lunar calendar - will take place on 27 November 2023, and The Peninsula Bangkok has planned a line-up of celebratory events throughout the evening.

The festivities will kick off at 7 pm with the traditional launch of krathongs: small floating vessels made of lotus leaves containing candles and incense, whose floating symbolises the release of misfortune to welcome good luck. Afterward, guests can enjoy a lavish feast at several of the resort's acclaimed restaurants, including:

  • A Gala Dinner Buffet at River Cafe & Terrace (priced at THB 5,590 net per person served indoors; THB 6,900 net per person served outdoors)
  • Gala Dinner Buffet on The Peninsula Lawn (priced at 6,900 net per person)
  • Five-course Thai Set Menu at Thiptara (priced at THB 4,900 net per person)
  • Five-course Western Set Menu at The Lobby Terrace (priced at THB 6,500 net per person)

While dining, guests can enjoy traditional entertainment, including a Thai dance performance and puppet show, and a beauty pageant selecting Miss Noppamas, the symbolic lady of the Loy Krathong Festival. The night's celebration culminates with a breath-taking fireworks display over the River of Kings.

Festival guests can also partake in The Peninsula Bangkok's exclusive Loy Krathong Room Package*, which lets them enjoy a wealth of special privileges along with the holiday festivities. The offer includes:

  • Daily international breakfast at The River Cafe & Terrace for two
