MOWI ASA, the world's largest Atlantic Salmon farmer and most sustainable animal protein producer, piloted its first CSR project in Thailand under 'MOWI Booth Design Contest at Makro HoReCa 2023'. The project aims to give back to the Thai society encouraging the youths in the design industry to showcase their creativity in an international arena with strong support from Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) that represents Norway's seafood exporters and the seafood industry.

MOWI ASA was the first exporter, together with Siam Makro, to introduce fresh Atlantic Salmon to Thailand market in 2007 and has been delivering fresh Salmon through Makro stores nationwide for the past 16 years. The company four core values: Change, Passion, Trust, and Share has paved ways for its business operations in Thailand to focus on sustainability and social responsibility. MOWI ASA is certified by Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index, which assesses 60 of the largest listed global meat, dairy and aquaculture companies on 10 ESG factors, for four consecutive years. The Salmon producer annually exhibits products at Makro HoReCa. This year, MOWI ASA took the opportunity to pilot 'MOWI Booth Design Contest at Makro HoReCa 2023' enabling design students from Silpakorn University to showcase their talents and creativity to win awards and prizes at Makro HoReCa 2023, held between 16-19 November 2023 at Impact Exhibition and Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani.

'MOWI Booth Design Contest at Makro HoReCa 2023' winning team is design students from Silpakorn University consisted of Ms. Yananan Kandech, Ms. Apisara Suttiboriharnkul, Ms. Benyapa Parndet, and Ms. Anchisa Amornthanapat. The design concept is sustainability modelled for MOWI booth area of 5 x 6 meters at Makro HoReCa 2023. First-place winning team received a cash prize of THB 50,000 with a trophy and certificate; the 1st runner-up received a cash prize of THB 30,000 and a certificate; the 2nd runner-up received a cash prize of THB 10,000 and a certificate. The awarding ceremony was honored by the presence of Ambassador of Norway to Thailand, H.E. Mrs. Astrid Emilie Helle, MOWI ASA executives, Charlie Wu, Managing Director Asia, and Vincent Ang, Regional Sales Director.
