'Knorr', a brand under Unilever - a leading company committed to fostering sustainable positive change, has been honored with the '10 Years Lowsalt Awards' in the category of low-sodium product manufacturers by the Thai LowSalt Network , with support from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth). This recognition underscores the success of Knorr's business operations guided by the Force for Good in Food vision, with a steadfast commitment to enhancing the nutritional value of Knorr's products in ten billion dishes worldwide. The brand continues to champion its mission of promoting nutrition, health, and well-being among Thais through the 'Eat Well, Live Well' project. Key objective of the campaign is to offer healthier alternative products to Thais, including lower-sodium Knorr cube and instant rice porridge that bearing the Healthier Choice Logo.

Unilever received the '10 Years Lowsalt Awards' in the category of low-sodium product manufacturers, presented by the Thai LowSalt Network. Representing the company at the event was Ms. Apiporn Adulpichit, Nutrition South East Asia Head of Research and Development. The '10th Anniversary Exhibition of the Thai LowSalt Network' was organized to commemorate a decade of the network's existence and to extend congratulations and gratitude to businesses that have played a pivotal role in advocating and contributing to the reduction of sodium consumption in Thailand. This initiative, which began in 2012 through the Thai LowSalt Network, has enjoyed the support of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) and the Nephrology Society of Thailand. Notably, by 2019, sodium consumption among the Thai population had decreased to just 3,636 milligrams per day, a significant improvement from 2009 when Thais were consuming over 4,351milligrams of sodium daily.

Ms. Apiporn Adulpichit, Nutrition South East Asia Head of Research and Development, remarked, "Unilever has been dedicated to continuously developing 'Knorr' products with exceptional taste and appropriate nutritional value for over 20 years, with the aim of elevating the nutritional standards of consumers worldwide, including Thai people. Our goal is to have more than 85% of our food products worldwide meet Unilever's Science-based Nutrition Criteria (USNC), aligning with the World Health Organization's recommendation of consuming no more than 5 grams of salt per day. This aligns with the strategic mechanism for reducing salt and sodium consumption in Thailand by 30% (2016 - 2025) which aims to decrease sodium consumption by 30% by 2025. In this regard, 'Knorr' is delighted to contribute to the efforts of reducing salt and sodium intake among Thai people through food innovation, with the development of lower-sodium Knorr soup cubes and Knorr instant rice porridge. These products meet the Healthier Choice Logo criteria and are certified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to provide consumers with healthier options, promoting good nutrition and health for Thai people."

Ms. Nuntana Khaopluem, Head of Nutrition Business Unit for Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore & Head of Customer Strategy and Planning for Southeast Asia, added: "Knorr is honored to support a campaign of the Thai LowSalt Network, through our healthier alternative products that aligned with Network's mission, such as lower-sodium Knorr cube and instant rice porridge, that accredited with the Healthier Choice Logo, which are developed with consumers' well-being in mind. In celebration of this occasion, Knorr continues its commitment to drive awareness about proper nutrition, at the '10th Anniversary Exhibition of the Thai LowSalt Network'. Unilever has set up a 'Knorr Eat Well, Live Well'' booth to disseminate knowledge and promote an accurate understanding of nutrition among Thai people. The booth showcases cooking activities that cook by lower-sodium Knorr Cubes, which maintain delicious flavor in every dish despite with a reduction in sodium content.

Visitors to the event can savor the delectable taste of Knorr's instant rice porridge, enriched with essential nutrition, at the '10th Anniversary Exhibition of the Thai LowSalt Network', held under the slogan 'Less Salt, Still Delicious' from December 4th to 6th, 2023, between 10:30 AM to 6:30 pm, at the Eden Zone on the 3rd floor of CentralWorld.
