Mr. Sebastian Frederic Salmon, Senior Vice President, Head of Franchised Hotel Operation Division, Ms. Rungthip Phenphan, Head of Sustainability Development and Corporate Communication Division, The Erawan Group Public Company Limited, together with Ms. Gloyta Nathalang, Executive Vice President, Corporate Branding, Communication and Sustainability Activation, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Chairperson of Carbon Markets Club, Chatchai Loybundit, Executive Vice President of Investment, BCPG Public Company Limited, kicked off 'STAY FOR SANTA' project to pilot individual carbon footprint offsets for guests staying at four participating hotels under The ERAWAN Group during festive season from 23 December 2023 to 2 January 2024, 10 nights in total. The goal is help raising awareness on climate actions in hospitality industry and to spread happiness and contribute to the planet during this festive season.
The ERAWAN Group and Carbon Markets Club initiated the 'Stay for Santa' campaign to drive a low carbon society and our responsibility towards social, environmental, and actions on global issue on climate change. It is also considered as a pioneering project that encourages hospitality businesses and other private sectors to raise awareness and initiation of creative actions on reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The four leading hotels from The ERAWAN Group are 1) Mercure Sukhumvit 24 Hotel 2) Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Hotel 3) JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok Hotel, and 4) Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok Hotel. It is expected that more than a thousand rooms will be occupied during this festive season. Every single night staying with all these participating hotels from 23 December 2023 to 2 January 2024 will be offset by carbon credit through Carbon Markets Club to help sustainably making the world a better place.
