Each year, a group of over 30 of Kru Rodj's current and former students between eight and 70 years old join together during the Christmas season. They celebrate joy and gratitude through a shared love of music while making a meaningful contribution to the community. Christmas is the time for these students to reconnect, not just with each other, but with the larger purpose of their musical journey and celebrate together with Erawan Bangkok, which has supported do-good activities over the past 19 years.
This year's musical event took place at the elegant Erawan Bangkok, transforming the boutique mall into a festive stage of joy and goodwill on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The wide age range of the performers added a unique flavor to the event, showcasing a blend of youthful enthusiasm and mature artistry as they brought back warm memories of Christmas past with joyful songs that share love with society.
The Sing for Hugs Christmas event is more than just a musical performance, as it also helps to raise money for charity. The funds raised during the two-day event will be donated to a good cause, supporting a hospital in Umpang that serves hilltribe communities and is often lacking in resources and support. This act of giving extends beyond financial aid, as it symbolizes a hug of support and solidarity for those in remote regions, reinforcing the event's core message of caring and community support.
