Ericsson appoints Anders Rian as Head of Ericsson Thailand

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) today announced the appointment of Anders Rian as Head of Ericsson Thailand. Anders succeeds Igor Maurell, who will take on the role of Head of Global Journey Transformation at Ericsson Group.

Prior to taking on his new role in Thailand, Anders was the Vice President of Sales at Ericsson for Indosat Ooredoo Hutchinson, a leading Communications Service Provider (CSP) in Indonesia. Anders and his team enabled the Indonesian CSP to complete its Radio Access Network consolidation project ahead of schedule and to launch 5G in the cities of Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi. Anders brings to the role more than 23 years' experience in the telecommunications industry,including senior leadership roles in markets such as Norway, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

Prior to his stint in Ericsson Indonesia, Anders was based in Bangkok, leading the dtac key account for more than 5 years and working on Telenor Asia opportunities across the region.

On returning to Thailand in his new role as Head of Ericsson , Thailand , Anders states, "I am very pleased to take on my new role as Head of Ericsson Thailand. The Thai market is very unique with one of the world's highest average daily time spent online, and we expect to see data consumption doubling in the next 2 years. I am committed to working closely with the Ericsson Thailand team and the broader eco-system in the country to accelerate Thailand's digital transformation, which will benefit the country's economy, society and the Thai people. Thailand is an important market for Ericsson and I look forward to strengthening our presence in the market."

According to Anders, Thailand has been an early adopter of 5G technology in the region but the market still offers huge opportunities to scale 5G and help CSPs realize their goals of efficient network performance, best customer experience and value creation.
