Simply use the oil-change service at participating partners including: Auto1, FIT Auto, Bangchak, Shell, PT, Autobacs, Cockpit, B-Quik, LIQUI MOLY, Hino, Toyota, Suzuki, Nissan, Mitsubishi Motors, Isuzu, Honda, Ford and Mazda as well as stores and dealers in Bangkok and perimeter, then show your oil-change and air filter receipt in exchange for an additional two hours of free parking at eight branches of Central shopping centres: centralwOrld, Central Ladprao, Central Eastville, Central Rama 9, Central Bangna, Central Rama 2, Central Chaengwattana and Esplanade Ratchada from today until 29 February 2024. Central Pattana is honored by Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and partners participating in the campaign launch event to help publicize the campaign and to raise more awareness of PM2.5 dust pollution.

According to the BMA's data, PM2.5 dust remains a huge issue for the people of Bangkok due to weather conditions and the result of people's daily life activities. Survey results from SDG Move and the Ministry of Industry in 2023 indicated that traffic issues were the main source of PM2.5 dust in Bangkok and perimeter, followed by biomass burning. Therefore, the BMA has joined hands with major partners from both the government and private sector to initiate the 'This Car Reduces PM2.5 Dust' Change car engine oil and air filter to reduce PM2.5 campaign.

Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Chief Marketing Officer for Central Pattana plc, said: "It is a delight for Central Pattana to be part of driving Bangkok towards becoming a 'Green Economy' city. With our strengths from having Central shopping centres across Bangkok and perimeter as the Center of Life for people in each neighborhood, providing convenience to people, we believe that we can further help raise awareness and encourage people in Bangkok to change their car's engine oil and air filter to further reduce the PM2.5 dust problem. In our role as Place Maker, which sustainably operates business and puts forward a Better Future for All, we focus on caring for the community and the environment. Central shopping centres are well equipped and have measures in place to ensure good air quality in each center across the country in addition to strict control over the construction of new projects in order to reduce the impact on the environment."

The collaboration between BMA and partners in the 'This Car Reduces PM2.5 Dust' Change oil and air filter to reduce PM2.5 campaign aims to encourage the people of Bangkok to change their car's oil and air filter, which is an effective way to help solve the dust pollution issue. Campaign participants will receive special discounts and stickers: 'This Car Reduces PM2.5 Dust' to demonstrate the symbol of a 'Changer' and encourage others to develop a city with clean space together. Moreover, participants who change their car oil in order to reduce PM2.5 dust will receive an additional two hours of free parking at shopping centres in Bangkok and perimeter. It is expected that 300,000 cars will join this campaign by February 2024. In addition, in 2024, Ministry of Industry is raising the level of engine standards to the Euro5 standard and will subsequently enact relevant law enforcement with regard to this.
