HKTB Executive Director Mr Dane Cheng expressed confidence in Ms Liew in her new role, "With Chian Jia's extensive tourism experience and strong regional trade connections, I am sure she will lead the team to new heights and contribute significantly to the growth of the Southeast Asian market for Hong Kong tourism."
Ms Liew joined HKTB in 2017 and has been instrumental in driving the trade partnerships and marketing Hong Kong to the travel trade in the Southeast Asia region. Prior to this appointment, Ms Liew was the Director of Trade Marketing for the Southeast Asia region for the HKTB.
Ms Liew was appointed to succeed Mr Martin Gwee, who had been with the HKTB since 2016.
