Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), in collaboration with Trade Investment Queensland (TIQ) and De Bortoli Wines, successfully hosted The Great Steak Escape II KHAO YAI EDITION, the extraordinary outdoor BBQ networking event unfolded amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Khao Yai, a small town known for the Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Held for the second time, the event showcased the excellence of Australian premium beef, expertly paired with the finest wines, marking a delightful fusion of culinary artistry and the natural charm of the surroundings. With the aim of enhancing premium appeal, fame and desirability that will entice discerning guests and encourage them to explore and engage with the variety of Australian beef products, the gastronomic journey transported the guests to nature, allowing them to indulge in a selection of premium Australian steaks crafted from the richness of grass-fed, grain-fed and long-fed Wagyu beef. Prepared in various styles, these delectable cuts underscored the incredible diversity and versatility of Australian beef. In the event, five top local restaurants curated an experience of pure enjoyment through the special crafted menus that showcased the excellence of Australian beef, featuring:

  1. Ribs Mannn elevated the culinary experience with Australian Angus Ribs Eye Geneva, a charcoal grilled Australian Angus ribs eye steak Geneva style, and Australian Trio Plates, a charcoal grilled Australian picanha, rump and flank served with Thai style spicy 'chaew' dipping sauce and pepper sauce. Also, a new addition to the menu was Australian Wagyu Sirloin Bone-in Steak, a 700 g charcoal grilled marvel served on top marrow bone and paired with baked potato and trio sauce.
  2. Mother Say No! captivated palates with Australian Tenderloin Rossini, Striploin Steak, and Spicy Grilled Australian Beef Salad.
  3. Club Lago presented Grilled Australian Black Angus Flank Steak and the new menu Wok-fried Australian Brisket with Hot Basil and Spicy Grilled Angus Picanha with Herbs.
  4. ROMA delivered a feast for the senses, featuring Grilled Australian Tomahawk Steak, Oven-baked Australian Short Ribs, and 12-hour Slow-cooked Chinese Style Australian Beef Shank.
  5. The Fable Feast at Labaris Hotel crafted a dining experience with Creamy Mushroom Risotto with Grilled Australian Tenderloin, 150-days Angus Rib Eye MB3/5, Mandolong, and Australian Beef Fillet Mignon Rossini.

This celebration of the diverse range of Australian red meat products showcased the unique qualities of beef sourced from various cattle breeds and regions. The event underscored the remarkable ability of Australian beef to cater to a wide array of consumer preferences, demonstrating its versatility and confirming its status as a culinary delight.
