Through this collaboration, Tetra Pak; Friends in Need (of 'Pa') Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross Society; Eco-Friendly Thai Company Limited; and other partners have provided essential materials to assist in reconstructing the flood-damaged school and homes. For Sukirin District, the donations comprised 418 roof sheets and 57 door frame sets; for Rajapattana School, the donations included 45 roof sheets, 400 eco blocks, as well as eco wood pieces that will be used for the local production of canteen tables and chairs. Other partner recyclers, Advanced Mat Co., Ltd. and M.B.J. Enterprise Co., Ltd., have been instrumental in contributing to the production of roof sheets and door frames, respectively, showcasing the collaborative effort in rebuilding the lives of affected communities. Additionally, the Waldorf Astoria Hotel has generously contributed 100,000 Baht towards the school's rebuilding efforts to purchase educational materials.

This initiative goes beyond providing temporary relief; it is about laying the foundation for sustainable and eco-friendly living solutions for communities grappling with the aftermath of natural disasters. Tetra Pak and its partners are united in their commitment to community support, aiming to make a lasting difference in the lives of the flood victims.

Volunteers from across the nation, mobilised by The Green Shelter Project, have been instrumental in collecting and repurposing used beverage cartons into valuable resources. The recycled goods delivered to the villages and Rajapattana School are a testament to the collective effort to rebuild the houses and the school with sustainable materials, aiding the resilient Narathiwat communities' recovery path.

Mr. Dhitiwat Wongwannakul, Committee and General Manager of Friends in Need (of 'Pa') Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross Society said: "The disaster in the South of Thailand last December caught local communities off-guard and Narathiwat province was one of the major areas affected. Our Foundation has the mission to help disaster victims effectively and sustainably. Partnering with Tetra Pak in the Green Shelter project, we could extend support to this disaster relief, and it is only possible with the help from all project partners and the volunteers".

"It is our privilege to support the villages and Rajapattana School with materials that will help rebuild their facilities," stated Mr. Patinya Silsupadol, Head of Sustainability at Tetra Pak (Thailand) Limited. "The Green Shelter Project embodies our vision to repurpose used beverage cartons into functional structures, reducing environmental impact and providing meaningful assistance to those in urgent need. We are deeply grateful to all volunteers for their unwavering dedication to collecting used beverage cartons."

"We extend our heartfelt thanks to BJC Big C Group, as well as Central Pattana Public Company Limited and Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, for providing drop-off locations nationwide. Your support is crucial to our mission. And to our volunteers, you are the backbone of this contribution. We encourage more people to join us in recycling used beverage cartons and volunteering for this cause."

"Our mission is to drive positive environmental change in Thailand and be an active contributor to the circular economy of the nation," said Mr. Somyos Watapanich, Managing Director of Eco-Friendly Thai Co., Limited. "By transforming used materials into new, useful products, we are promoting the importance of recycling. These products in turn can be used to support community in need, such as the flood victims in Narathiwat province."

The Green Shelter Project aims to encourage the collection of used beverage cartons and transform them into innovative construction materials, such as roof sheets, fiber cement boards, wall panels, door frames, and window frames. These materials are then distributed to support the construction of new homes for individuals affected by natural disasters, offering a helping hand to those facing adversity.
