This event is the first ever DRAG Festival in Thailand and Asia, bringing together over 500 local and international drag performers - more than ever before. It is a grand gathering of representatives from businesses, shops, celebrities and actors who support the Thai drag community.
DRAG BANGKOK Festival 2024 is a testament to the collective stance of the event organizers and the community towards the presence of Thai drag artists who have the potential to contribute to the economy and reinforce Thailand's status as an LGBTQIA+ hub for tourism, arts and culture. This is a significant gathering of the Thai drag community brought about by the collaboration of Mr. Phatthara (PAT) Lertsukittipongsa , the founder and organizer of "DRAG BANGKOK Festival 2024", Ms. Waddao - Arun Chaumporn, President and Founder of Narmmit Pride, the organizer of Bangkok Pride Festival 2024, and ONESIAM.
This DRAG Festival will be held under the name "DRAG BANGKOK Festival 2024" You can expect a spectacular program with performances by Thai and international drag artists as well as the most magnificent drag parade in Thailand, the DRAG BANGKOK PRIDE PARADE, themed "I've got the power"," where drag artists and allies will unite with the Bangkok Pride Festival 2024 parade on Saturday, June 1st, 2024.
Mr. Pat of Yellow Channel Co Ltd, the founder and organizer of "DRAG BANGKOK Festival 2024", explained that Yellow Channel was founded in 2017 as a group that curates news and events about drag in Thailand. The intention behind organizing this event is to raise awareness and understanding of drag culture intertwined with the LGBTQIAN+ community in society. The event will be expanded to include performances, parties, fashion shows and a gathering of Thai drag artists with the aim of organizing a drag parade in 2024. He also recognizes the growth of the Thai drag community, which has the potential to be one of the artist groups that can not only be a voice for the LGBTQIAN+ community in Thailand, but also help stimulate the Thai economy.
"The event will feature Thai drag icons such as Art Araya Indra, Jai Sira, M Stranger Fox, Angele Anang, Kana Warrior and global drag icons along with many other drag performers and Showgirls from Thailand and around the world, celebrities, actors, activists and allies of the LGBTQIAN+ community who will come together to show their power and reaffirm Thailand's status as a land of creativity, art and diverse culture.
