Cementhai Property makes aggressive move into real estate business

Cementhai Property is making an aggressive move into the industrial land business, targeting both local and foreign investors. Meanwhile, the company is also taking aim at developing, selling or leasing land, cashing in one of SCG's valuable assets - over 10,000 rai of land nationwide.
Mr. Chalaluck Bunnag, President of Cementhai Property Co., Ltd. under the Siam Cement Group (SCG), said the company is committed to developing industrial land. Its business scope includes the management of SCG's two industrial land at Nong Khae, Saraburi and Ban Khai, Rayong, which span over 7,000 rai. For 2001, the company plans to sell industrial land at Saraburi and Rayong to electrical and electronics industries and to the automotive parts and components industries, respectively.
Meanwhile, the company is undertaking a land development project covering an area of 1,600 rai at Map Ta Phut, Rayong for petrochemical industries.
"Aside from selling industrial land to the companies under SCG, Cementhai Property has also expanded beyond the Group, tapping both local and foreign investors. With land of various sizes to meet individual requirements, SCG's industrial land apply world-class management standards and adhere to rigorous environmental protection. Thus they have been certified by Ministry of Industry and are the country's first industrial land to have obtained the ISO 14001 environmental management certification. Added to this are the first class infrastructures, which are regarded as one of the best in Thailand," said Mr. Chalaluck.
According to Mr. Chalaluck, SCG's companies have over 10,000 rai of land throughout the country, 700 rai of which are prime real estate in Bangkok. The company plans to develop, sell or lease the land to investors in response to market demands.

1. S I L Industrial Land Co., Ltd. The company was founded in 1988 to develop and manage the industrial land at Nong Khae, Saraburi which spans 3,500 rai. The industrial land is situated only 60 kilometers from the Bangkok International Airport (Don Muang). S I L is the first in Thailand to have attained ISO 14001 environmental management certification and is also known of its best infrastructure in Thailand. The other business is developing, selling, and leasing land, as well as SCG's office building facilities, utilizing the Group's assets of over 10,000 rai of land.

Established in 1995, Rayong Industrial Land is responsible for developing and managing the 3,500 rai industrial land at Ban Khai, Rayong, famed for its world-class infrastructure and services. The company's unbending commitment to environmental protection and preservation has won it the ISO 14001 environmental management certification.
3. R I L 1996 Co., Ltd. The company was set up in 1996 to manage the 1600-rai industrial estate at Map Ta Phut, Rayong, which is specially designed for the petrochemical industry. The project is still in the pipeline.
