BAHRAIN (eTurboNews) - The second International Health Tourism Exhibition, which was held last week at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center, has been a tremendous success, organizers said.
A total of 141 healthcare institutions and tourism groups from India, Iran, Morocco, Egypt, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Germany and Bahrain participated in the event.
The exhibition featured state-of-the-art medical technology from around the world and specialized seminars on the latest in the world of medicine and surgery.
The three-day event was held under the patronage of Information Minister Nabeel Al Hamar and organized by Amadeus International Fair Group.
"The exhibition was a good forum for the medical fraternity of the Middle East and worldwide to meet and discuss various opportunities which will benefit all," said Iran's Deputy Minister for Employment Dr. M Nouri.
"Since Iran and Bahrain are neighbors, it is essential that we have these kinds of exhibitions, which enhance the interaction between the two countries. There are talks underway between the Ministries of Health of the two countries to strengthen our relations in this field."
Dr. Nouri was particularly impressed with the effort made by Bahrain's various ministers for their understanding and willingness to promote health tourism in the region.
Moroccan government tourist office Middle East and Asia director Taibi Khattab was also delighted with the success of the exhibition. "There were three segments of visitors who visited us, the local Bahraini population, the expatriate population and visitors from the eastern provinces of Saudi Arabia," he said.
"They are very interested in Morocco as a health tourist destination because of the natural thermal springs and spas that we have. We would definitely be back next year, as the International Health Tourism Exhibition is an excellent forum for us to present ourselves," Khattab added.
