ATC signed the Purchase and Sale Agreements for Paraxylene produced from Aromatics Complex 2 with TPT Petrochemicals Public Company Limited

Mr. Permsak Shevawattananon, President of The Aromatics (Thailand) Public Company Limited or ATC has signed the Purchase and Sales Agreements of Paraxylene on January 19, 2006 with TPT Petrochemical Public Company Limited . The 640 million US$ agreement is the Purchase and Sale contract of Paraxylene , those to be produced from Aromatics Complex 2 , for 100,000 metric ton / year and will be based on 8-year period when Aromatics Complex II Project commercial start-up. TPT Petrochemicals Public Company Limited, a main PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) producer in the country and one of ATC major customer, currently purchased Paraxylene from Aromatics Complex I as feedstock to produce PTA which normally used as raw material to produce Polyester, PET bottle , auto parts and food containers.
The Aromatics Complex II Project will be completed and commercial start-up in Q3 / 2008 with the new production capacity of Benzene 363,000 metric ton / year and Paraxylene 616,000 metric ton / year. Therefore, total capacity of Benzene and Paraxylene will be 830,000 metric ton / year and 1,111,000 metric ton / year respectively making ATC the largest Aromatics producer in Southeast Asia. End.
