Siriraj Hospital Launches the ‘Siriraj Orthopaedic Learning Center’, the First One-Stop for Orthopaedic Surgeries Training in Thailand

Prof. Clinical Dr. Piyasakol Sakolsattayathorn, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital presides over the grand opening ceremony of the “Siriraj Orthopaedic Learning Center” at the conference room of “Bangkok Biomaterial Center”, 14th Floor, Chalerm Prakiat Building, Siriraj Hospital.
The “Siriraj Orthopaedic Learning Center” is the first center in Thailand to provide training and workshop for all aspects and types of “Orthopaedic Surgery”. The center will offer training and lecture to more than 80 Orthopaedic specialists, both local and international, per year. The courses include the lecture in joint and hip replacement, spinal surgery with implantation, joint dislocation, hand microsurgery, Rheumatoid operation. The course will also cover operating with actual human body or “cadaver workshop”. The trainees will receive skills, knowledge, understanding and experience as well as be able to catch up with the latest developments and operation techniques that change rapidly today. In addition, they will be able to properly analyze the problem occurred with the patients. The “Siriraj Orthopaedic Learning Center” will offer its first training course and workshop to 12 physicians on February 28, 2006 until March 1, 2006. Prof. Bo Nivbrant, the expert in joint and hip replacement from Perth University, Australia will be the lecturer for this inaugural course.
