Thai bourse tests its emergency business continuity plan

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Group (Market for Alternative Investment, Bond Electronic Exchange, Thailand Futures Exchange PCL, Thailand Securities Depository Co., Ltd., SETTRADE.Com Co., Ltd., and Money Channel) and the securities companies, will undertake an annual Business Continuity Plan (BCP) test to ensure that all major systems and work organization are able to function in an unforeseen emergency, such as an accident or natural disaster. The trial, on Saturday November 10, will involve about 200 staff and management from participating organizations.
The BCP test, which covers the SET Building and its operations, is important in maintaining confidence in the capital market, which is a core national economic driver. Trials, such as this one, are essential for all of Thailand’s major organizations.
The simulation is a crucial part of the Exchange’s planning and its ongoing assessment of trading systems and workflows.
