The sails are officially up for the King’s Cup and Agoda Company celebrates the “jewel in the crown” of Asia’s yachting circuit with special rates and availability for hotels in Phuket.

An exceptional dinghy sailor and great sportsman in general, the King was awarded an “Insignia of Olympic Order” by the International Olympic Committee — the only Monarch ever to receive such recognition — 20 years ago, which prompted yachting enthusiasts to start this first and most famous Thai regatta.
In addition to the actual race which begins on the 1st of December and concludes on the 8th, the temperate weather, friendly atmosphere and soirees that take place during that period make Phuket all the more alluring as a holiday destination.
