Having your Cake & Eating it! Amari Orchid Resort & Tower’s Sizeable Donation to Baht For A Better Life (1,200 metres of The Longest Longan Cake sold) On the occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday, Amari Orchid Resort & Tower, in conjunction with Central Center Pattaya, The Royal Project, Pattaya City Hall and Sophon Cable TV Pattaya presented the world’s longest Longan Cake at 76 metres from August 9th — 12th 2008 @ Central Center, Pattaya. The event received tremendous positive feedback from all supporting hands and a delicious 1,200m of cake was sold! Around 500 kilograms of dried & fresh Longans and more than 17,000 eggs were used to produce the colossal cake. After deduction of costs, the total funds raised were over THB 440,000, donated to the "Baht for a Better Life" charity, helping children from underprivileged backgrounds around Thailand. HSH Prince Bhisatej RAJANI, Chairman of the Royal Project Foundation presided over the opening ceremony. The event also featured a product exhibition by The Royal Project and exciting shows on stage from students of various Pattaya Schools, a Fashion Show of local celebrities, Singing Mom Dancing Kids Contest and Cake For Mom Contest and all the awards presented by Khun Itthipol Kunploem, Pattaya City Mayor.
